Sandakphu Trek
SANDAKPHU TREK :
Sandakphu (3636 mtr / 11,930 ft) is a mountain peak in the Highest Natural Point Of West Bengal. It comes under the Sungalila National Park just at the border of India & Nepal. The temperature varies from 10 °C to - 10 °C depending on the season. Some of the best peaks can be shown from here like Baruntse (7220m), Chamlang (7319m), Chomo Lonzo (7818m), Lhotse (8516m), Makalu (8462m), Mount Everest (8848m), Nuptse (7861m), Kanchenjunga (Sleeping Buddha range) (8586m), Talung (7349m), Rathong (6679m), Kabru N (7353m), Koktang (6147m), Simvo (6812m), Frey (5853m), Kabru S (7318m), Kabru Dome (6600m), Kabru Forked (6100m), Pandim (6691m), Tenchenkhang (6010m), Jupono (5650m).
Short Itinerary:
- Pickup and Arrival to Manebhanjan : Upon arrival at Siliguri Stand / Bagdogra Airport / New Jalpaiguri Railway Station, meeting and greetings will be done. Then there will be a 3 hours drive to Manebhanjan (75Kms). Overnight stay here.
- Trek to Tumling : After breakfast permit work will be done then trek will start to Tumling via Meghma, Chitrey etc. it will be around 8-9 Kms trek. There will be a night stay at Tumling.
- Trek to Kalipokhri : On this day there will be a trek of 12kms approximately. Some points like Joubari, Gairibas will be covered in this trail. There will be a night stay at Kalipokhri.
- Trek to Sandakphu : This is the last ascending trek on this route. It is around 6kms trail. Finally reaching Sandakphu there will be some leisure time to explore the place. One can climb the highest Rock over there. There will be a night stay at Sandakphu.
- Trek to Srikhola : This is the final day of this trek. Its complete descending trail to Srikhola via Gurdum. Srikhola is a small village on the riverbank. Our last nightstay for this trek is here.
- Drop : After having breakfast our car will drop you to Siliguri Stand / Bagdogra Airport / New Jalpaiguri Railway Station with Sweet Memories…!!!
