ITINERARY:
π Day 1: Arrival at Itanagar – Transfer to Ziro (110 km / 4–5 hrs)
Welcome to Arunachal Pradesh! Upon arrival at Itanagar, meet our representative and drive to Ziro, a UNESCO Tentative Site and home of the Apatani tribe. Surrounded by misty hills and paddy fields, Ziro is the cultural heart of the state.
Check-in to your hotel/homestay. Evening at leisure. Overnight stay in Ziro.
π Day 2: Ziro Local Sightseeing – Apatani Culture & Nature Trails
After breakfast, set out to explore the offbeat wonders of Ziro Valley. Visit the Talley Valley Wildlife Sanctuary, home to clouded leopards and rare orchids. See the Shiva Linga at Kardo Hill, one of the largest in India, and explore the Tarin Fish Farm and Orchid Research Centre. Later, visit Kile Pakho Viewpoint for a panoramic view of the Himalayan ranges and Ziro plateau.
Optional: Interact with the Apatani tribes and witness their unique facial tattoo and nose plug traditions. Overnight stay in Ziro.
π Day 3: Ziro to Daporijo (170 km / 6–7 hrs)
After breakfast, travel to Daporijo, a picturesque town in the Upper Subansiri district. Located on the banks of the Subansiri River and surrounded by forests, Daporijo offers a quiet retreat and a peek into Tagin tribal culture. Check in to your hotel. Evening at leisure. Overnight stay in Daporijo.
π Day 4: Daporijo to Mechukha (Approx. 180 km / 7–8 hrs)
Post breakfast, proceed to the enchanting valley of Mechuka (Menchukha), nestled at 6,000 feet in the Shi Yomi district.
The name Mechuka comes from the Memba dialect: ‘Men’ means medicine, ‘Chu’ means water, and ‘Kha’ means snow – together symbolizing “the land blessed with medicinal snow-fed waters.” Drive through dense forests, narrow ridges, and tribal hamlets to reach this hidden paradise. Check in to your accommodation and relax. Overnight stay in Mechukha.
π Day 5: Mechuka Sightseeing – Monastery, Army Base & Scenic Points
After breakfast, explore the soulful and spiritual Mechuka Valley. Visit the 400-year-old Samten Yongcha Monastery, perched atop a hill with sweeping valley views. Head to Guru Nanak Taposthan, a sacred place with a serene backdrop. Also explore the Dorjeeling Village, local tribal homes, and the Yarlung Army Camp. Optional: Adventure lovers can opt for hiking and river crossing over traditional hanging bamboo bridges. Overnight stay in Mechuka.
π Day 6: Mechuka to Along / Pasighat (Approx. 190–210 km / 8 hrs)
After breakfast, drive towards Aalo (Along) or Pasighat, two of Arunachal’s lesser-known gems. Enjoy breathtaking views along the banks of the Siyom and Yomgo rivers. Stop at tribal villages en route for cultural snapshots. On arrival, check in to your hotel or riverside homestay. Spend your evening by the river or exploring nearby markets. Overnight stay in Along / Pasighat.
π Day 7: Along / Pasighat to Roing (Approx. 150 km / 5–6 hrs)
After breakfast, begin your journey to Roing, a scenic and culturally rich town in Lower Dibang Valley. Visit Rukmini Nati, a 14th-century fort ruin linked to the Mahabharata era. Explore Bhishmak Nagar, one of Arunachal’s oldest archaeological sites. The sight of waterfalls and tranquil lakes makes Roing an ethereal experience. Overnight stay in Roing.
π Day 8: Roing to Anini (Approx. 225 km / 7–8 hrs)
Post breakfast, embark on a scenic journey to Anini, one of India’s most remote and untouched destinations. Located in the Dibang Valley, Anini sits amidst pristine forests, snow-clad peaks, and meadows. Enjoy the serenity and laid-back pace of this beautiful town. Check-in and overnight stay at Anini.
π Day 9: Day Excursion to Acheso Village (24 km one-way)
After breakfast, take a day trip to Acheso Village, a hidden tribal hamlet surrounded by raw natural beauty. Home to only about 10 households, Acheso provides a firsthand glimpse into the rural life and traditions of the Idu Mishmi tribe. Interact with locals, explore their farmlands, and enjoy storytelling sessions about their cultural roots. Return to Anini in the evening. Overnight stay in Anini.
π Day 10: Anini to Namsai (Approx. 300+ km / 9–10 hrs)
After breakfast, embark on a long but beautiful drive to Namsai, the land of golden pagodas and Theravada Buddhism.

π Day 11: Namsai Sightseeing – Pagodas, Monasteries & Local Culture
After breakfast, visit the Golden Pagoda (Kongmu Kham), a majestic Burmese-style Buddhist temple. Explore Chongkham Monastery, Tengapani Meditation Centre, and local Tai Khamti tribal villages. Enjoy the spiritual calm and rural charm of this region. Overnight stay in Namsai.
π Day 12: Departure from Namsai to Dibrugarh / Tinsukia / Itanagar
After breakfast, check out and transfer to Dibrugarh / Tinsukia Railway Station or Itanagar Airport for your return journey.
